Introduction: Remind chn of the task - designingand making a replica Victorian dolls house for a specificmarket.
Look at the Victoria and AlbertMuseums website chronicling the use of wallpaper in the Victorianera and BBC website showing designs. Discuss important wallpaperdesigners such as Libertys and William Morris. View espresso videos 1 and 2 Design Technology structures The Red House. Show the scanned images of wallpaperdesigns and discuss suitable patterns for their allocatedrooms.
Main Activity: Split each group into pairs and begincarousel. Teacher to work with the chn, measuring, markingand cutting the frames for the rooms ensuring health and safetymeasures are followed. 1st carousel group to make squareframe for ceiling, 2nd carousel group to make squareframe for floor, 3rd carousel group to make sideframes.
Designs for wallpaper to be drawn into topicbooks.
Cutting practice shapes to be stuck intobooks.
Plenary: Show each of the cubes and discuss the next stepsfor the making of the rooms (Green hat thinking).
